There are several causes for knee pain. It can be caused by a one-time acute injury, or a repetitive movement that strains the knee. However, there are many instances where knee pain can be avoided.
Here are 4 simple tips to help prevent knee pain.
Stretching is very important. Before we do any physical activity, whether it’s serious athletic training or merely recreation, we should stretch. Stretching not only decreases the possibility of injury by preparing the knee for the movement, but it also improves physical performance.
The stronger the muscles around the knee, the more protected the knee! Weight training will strengthen the muscles in our legs. As the muscles get stronger, they reduce the possibility of injuring the knee.
Our bodies are aligned with a specific center of gravity. When we wear high heels, they not only make you look taller, but they can shift your center of gravity and strain your lower back.
Don’t bend over from the waist to lift heavy objects. Bend your knees and squat, pulling in your stomach muscles and holding the object close to your body as you stand up. Let your legs do the lifting, not your back.
